ABOUT ELEVATE COUNSELING
Who I Am
I’m Nancy Canning, a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) based in Denver, Colorado. I’ve spent over 25 years working with young people, watching them navigate pressure, figure out who they are, and find their footing when things get hard. That work is what led me to open Elevate.
I started this practice because I believe teenagers deserve more than a place to vent. They deserve a space where someone takes them seriously, helps them understand themselves, and gives them real tools to move forward. That’s what Elevate is built around.
How I Work
I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and strengths-based coaching to help teens build insight and momentum, not just manage symptoms. Sessions feel like a real conversation. I ask hard questions, celebrate progress, and don’t sugarcoat things.
I work with adolescents one-on-one, and I also support families who want to better understand what their teen is going through.

In-Person & Telehealth
I see clients in person at my Denver office and via telehealth anywhere in Colorado. Many families mix the two: in person for the first session, telehealth when schedules get busy. Both options get the same level of attention.
“Outside the office, I’m a mom, a school leader, and someone who genuinely loves this stage of life, the possibility in it. I didn’t come to this work from a textbook. I came to it from years of watching teenagers rise when the right person believed in them.”
